Welcome to the York Beer & Cider Festival 2009 Website

York Knavesmire (Tadcaster Road end) is  the location for this years expanded York Beer & Cider Festival. This will be York's first outdoor beer festival and the increased capacity means we will be able to offer up to 200 beers, 30 ciders and perries, a foreign beer bar, wine and soft drinks.

This is an exciting expansion for the branch which we hope will be enjoyed by people from York and beyond. There’ll be live music on the Friday and Saturday evenings (click here for more details) as well as a good range of food from mainly local caterers and other stalls. There’ll be a large amount of seating – inside the tent if it’s wet, with some outside if the weather’s good. Children are welcome during the afternoon sessions.

If you’re a CAMRA member (or if not, why not join?) please consider coming to volunteer at the festival and be in on this new venture from the start. There are all sorts of different jobs available from helping to set up the site (and earn beer tokens to enjoy while the event is open) to working during the festival and of course taking the site down at the end. Jobs during the festival are varied, not just serving the beer and cider. All volunteers will get free food and drinks for their efforts.

The festival site is less than 15 minutes from York Station and is served by regular buses (12 Acomb Park, 4 FTR Acomb, 13/13A Copmanthorpe and the Coastliner).

Festival Ale

This years Festival Ale - Union Gap was brewed by Great Heck with help from York CAMRA members. Click here for more details
